1. Introduction

This document sets out the terms and conditions (“T&Cs”) of becoming a Member of Business Women in by purchasing a Membership Subscription (“BWi”, “We” or “Us”).

Please read these terms and conditions before you purchase your BWi Membership as these will immediately apply upon purchase. We recommend you either print or save this page for future reference.

By purchasing a BWi Membership, you confirm that you accept these T&Cs and that you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree with these T&Cs, please do not purchase a membership with us.

Changes to these Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are subject to variation from time to time. You will be notified of any variations via email from info@businesswomenin.org, and the latest version of these terms and conditions will be available on this page.

Your membership will be deemed to have been renewed on the current version of the terms and conditions at the time of renewal. You can cancel your membership at any time if you don’t agree with the terms and conditions set out below.

2. Interpretation

The following definitions and rules of interpretation apply in these Terms.

  • Agreement Date: the date you purchase your BWi Membership.
  • Billing Period: The month from the start or renewal of your monthly membership fee.
  • Business Day: a day, other than a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday in England.
  • Business Hours: the period from 9.00am to 5.00pm on any Business Day.
  • PAYG: Pay As You Go. Applies to BWi events and On-demand Recordings.
  • In-person and Online Meet Ups, and Workshops: business networking and proffesional development events run by Business Women in which the Member has access.
  • On-demand Recording: a recorded workshop available to book as an on-demand recording in which the Member has access.
  • Member Data: personal data on the Member, including the Member's name, contact, and business details, provided by the Member to Business Women in in order for BWi to provide the Membership Benefits and for email communications.
  • Membership Benefits: the benefits provided to Members, appropriate to their Membership Level, as set out in the Membership Levels and Benefits section.
  • Membership Fee: the monthly fee payable by a Member for their Membership, appropriate to their Membership Level.
  • Membership Level: the level of Membership selected by a Member, each with its appropriate benefits and fees.
  • Intellectual Property Rights: all intellectual property rights (including copyright, trademarks, and design rights and rights to use, and protect the confidentiality of, confidential information), in each case whether registered or unregistered and including all applications and rights to apply for and be granted, renewals or extensions of, and rights to claim priority from, such rights.
  • BWi Materials: all documents, information, items, and materials in any form, whether owned by BWi or a third party, which are provided by BWi to the Member in connection with your Membership or the provision of Membership Benefits.

3. Business Women in's Responsibilities

BWi is committed to providing the Membership Benefits, as stated in this document, to Members as described. However, BWi has the right to change the Membership Benefits from time to time and will notify the Member in writing of any such change.

BWi is also committed to promptly responding to questions and feedback from Members.

4. Membership Commencement and Duration

Your Membership commences on the date of purchase and will automatically renew on a monthly basis until cancelled, either by you or by early termination in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. On renewal of your membership, these T&Cs apply to any renewal period.

Any benefits of the Membership or access to the Members’ Area portal which are part of your membership will also be terminated (if you cancel your membership) or changed to reflect your new Membership level.

You can cancel or change your Membership level at any time. However, BWi will not provide a refund if you cancel, nor will we refund the difference if you change your membership level before the next billing period. No refunds will be issued for the remainder of the month. Please refer to section (9.) for more information.

An active membership is required to book and attend events using the Members' Area Portal. If you don't have an active membership, your booking(s) will be cancelled, and you'll be asked to pay the standard price for that event or recording.

5. Membership Levels, Benefits, and Cost:

1. Standard Membership (PAYG):

  • PAYG= Pay As You Go
  • No membership fee. Members pay per event: Online & In-Person Meet-ups - £10, Workshops - £39, Recordings - £39. Access to the Free Business Women in Facebook Group and a free Business Directory profile.

2. Plus Membership:

  • £10/month - automatically renews each month unless cancelled
  • Access to the Free Business Women in Facebook Group, free Business Directory profile, free online & in-person meet-ups, PAYG online workshops, and PAYG on-demand recordings.

3. Premium Membership:

  • Cost: £15/month - automatically renews each month unless cancelled
  • Access to the Free Business Women in Facebook Group, free Business Directory profile, free online & in-person meet-ups, free online workshops, and free on-demand recordings.

An active membership is required to book and attend events using the Members' Area Portal. If you don't have an active membership, your booking(s) will be cancelled, and you'll be asked to pay the standard price for that event or recording.

When we say savings of up to £200/month (for plus) and £800/month (for premium) across all BWi materials relating to the membership, these figures are calculated on a single month and are dependent on how many recordings you book.

6. Payment Terms:

Members will purchase their membership via our sales page and booking system, and their membership fee will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled by the member. You will be emailed in advance of the payment due to notify you of the upcoming charge. We accept most credit and debit cards. If you're preferred payment method isn't accepted or doesn't work at checkout, please contact book@businesswomenin.org so we can help.

If for any reason there is an issue with your payment, our booking system will follow these steps:

  1. Notification: You will receive a email notification informing you of the failed payment.
  2. Retry Attempt: Our booking system will automatically re-attempt the charge 3 days after the failed payment
  3. Repeated Attempts: If the payment still fails, our booking system will continue to retry and will notify you of this. You will also be asked to check your payment details and funds.
  4. Final Notification: After several failed attempts, a final notification is emailed to you.
  5. Cancellation: If all attempts fail, your subscription may be cancelled and your membership level changed to Standard (PAYG).

7. Bookings Made Prior to Your Membership Start Date

Any PAYG bookings made prior to the start of your membership will be refunded based on your Membership level, as long as the refund request is made at least 7 days before the event starts.

This does not apply to On-Demand Recordings.

8. Changes to Membership Fees:

Current Plus and Premium prices are introductory offers. BWi reserves the right to change them at any time during your membership. We will give you 2 months' notice of this change, allowing you to amend or cancel your membership package.

9. Cancellation Policy

Members can cancel at any time, but this means their access to the members' area will be revoked, and any current and future bookings made under their membership will be cancelled. Members will have to rebook as PAYG attendees. Members can cancel using the "Cancel Your Membership page" under the menu header "About BWi's Membership Packages" on the Members' Area portal.

BWi is committed to making cancellation as easy and as transparent as it can be as we are passionate about giving Members the flexibility to cancel at any time without having to contact BWi. If you have any questions about the cancellation policy, please email info@businesswomenin.org

10. Members' Area Portal

Members will receive their login details upon purchase of their membership subscription. If they forget their details, they can either click "forgot password" to reset it or contact us to resend their details. Please check your junk folder as the email(s) may end up there.

If you have issues accessing the Members' Area or have not been emailed your login details, please contact us at book@businesswomenin.org

11. Code of Conduct:

BWi reserves the right to terminate your membership early if you violate any terms and conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing any resources, online materials, or recordings with third parties. If you are found to have breached these terms:

  1. Your membership will be immediately cancelled.
  2. Access to the Members Portal will be revoked.
  3. Restrictions may be imposed to prevent you from purchasing a membership with BWi in the future.

12. Privacy

We take your privacy very seriously. Please refer to the privacy and cookie policy on our website for more information.

Should you have any questions about BWi's Privacy Policy do contact us at info@businesswomenin.org

13. Intellectual Property

We will provide recordings, resources, and online materials as well as materials at events. These are not to be shared with third parties and are for personal, educational use only.

By purchasing your Membership, you consent to and agree with the terms and conditions outlined above.
